I was shooting at my leage today and was not getting any good groups (i shot a 255) so my buddy up there had a 2002 magnatech he traded me for my 04 blackhawk... the hoyt feels so much better then the blackhawk did...ive only had it for about 3 hours and am already doin much better then before, So now im a hoyt guy....AWESOME BOWS!!

I've got the same bow and love it. I find it very forgiving which is good for someone as inconsistent as me.;)

From what I've heard the Blackhawk isn't very forgiving; I guess it was designed more for flat out speed.

What's the difference in the brace heights? Doesn't the BlackHawk have only like a 5 inch brace height? If that's the case, I don't think the two bows are a very apples-to-apples comparison.

is it not funny how the answers from the bowtech guys are so different than that of the hoyt guys....lol

I think you have the Blackhawk and the BlackKnight mixed up.The BlackKnight has a brace height of 5 3/4 with an IBO speed of 342-350.
The blackhawk has a brace height of 8" an an IBO of 309-317.

Congrats on the (new) bow bigbuck90------and on the better shooting and scores.Looks like the Hoyt seems to fit you a little better.
Personally I cant see where the Blackhawk isnt a good shooter with such a forgiving brace.

It all boils down to confidence.........

Once you think the reason you are shooting "bad" is the bow's fault then it's time to move on no matter the brand or model.

Shooting is mostly a mental game.... It takes a long time to build the confidence and only a second to lose it.

Hope everything works out for you. Goodluck.

I have to agree with CJ on this ,but then again maybe the hoyt just suits you better than the Blackhawk.

some bows are tuned and some aren't, but still, busting nocks is a good feeling pain in the keester.

RE: Bowtech/hoyt

I did have the BlackHawk and Black Knight mixed up. The BlackHawk has a nice brace height. HOWEVER, if I'm not mistaken (again:)) the Black Hawk has a really short axle-to-axle length. As in sub-30 short.

I don't know much (read: anything) about the Magna-tech, but checking with this chart it doesn't look like Hoyt makes many bows that are LESS forgiving than the Black Hawk.

But hey, I'm not excusing, just trying to offer a possible explanation. If someone likes Hoyts better than BowTechs, more power to 'em. They're wrong, of course, but... :D

bigbuck90, I agree with buckeye, it is about confidence and you have confidence in the hoyt. The hoyt must fit your style of shooting.

Personally, I dont think it matters what you're shooting!! Just as long as you're shooting.... :)

RE: Bowtech/hoyt

Thats because its a 2 cam bow, less forgiving[8D]
