Hey guys,

My buddy got this pic of a doe feeding at his feeder in his back yard!



As you can see, her belly is really sagging. We aren't sure if she is pregnant or if she has a growth. I have never seen a pregnant deer with a belly thta sagged that low! What do you guys think?

Looks to me like the deer has a hernia or a large abscess. If were just a normal pregnancy it wouldn't sag near that low.

Hard to say but it possible if she is pregnant, she'll have twins or more if its that low. just guessing though

If she was that close to delivery to be that large she would probably have dropped in the back too. Bet she has a hernia or a tumour. With those hernias they can be huge looking but basically just be filled with fluid or air. Or intestine, that would end up killing her. I have seen things like that on sheep, which are basically the size of a big doe, and it isn't pretty.

Could also be an abcess or a tumour but I would go with tumour before abcess.

I vote pregnant. Think about twins weighing12 to 15 lbs apiece. Looks like about a 25 pound belly to me.
