need help for college business project
 

Hey guys.
I have to create a company for a college "entrepenuial thinking" class. I am creating a new line of camo with scent eliminating layers. I need a little help though.
My profesor is serious so I had to research the cost of the carbon cloth and all that, but now he wants me to find the cheapest possible manufacturing. I was trying to search for prices through the chinese textile industry but can not find any prices. I have to pitch the company to the class for 30 mins as if they are my venture capitalists.
The parameters are...I already have $3 mil invested in the company to spend on the technology, the labor, the overhead, and machines and by the 3rd year I have to make $20 million in revenues.
Anyone know what I need to buy, and for how much? Anyone know how to sew garmets?
THanks to anyone who took the time to read this. Classes suck somtimes I just want to go play in the woods.

I'd say you are SOL on finding any in depth market info on carbon material, seeing how the market is fairly new and extremely competitive.

Screw China. I've spent my last penny there. I'd be glad to pay a few extra bucks for something made in the States. Don't sell out to the WTO or your professor. Tell him that durring your research you found the American people want to support America and Americans. ;)

The military uses a chemical suit, I heard they keep your scent in. I don't beleive there carbon though. Don't know what fabric they use, maybe another angle for you.

Sounds like the same class I went through in 1982 to graduate from college. I don't know much about this line of business, but if you are manufacturing, you may be able to get some unused production capacity from another manufacturer cheaper than it would cost you to do it from scratch. That way you don't have the same mobilization and capital costs on the front end. You might try what recurver67 hit upon and find out who makes the military's chem suits. If they aren't in scent suit market than you might have an opportunity there since you aren't competing with them. Just suggestions. I hope they help.
