is scent blocker worth the price?
 

just bought a whole new scent blocker outfit..figured i'd give it a try.

IMO the price is too steep for the benefits you might experience. It is also my opinion that scent blocker is not an excuse to not hunt the wind. Do I think it'll hurt your hunting, No as long as you continue to hunt the wind.

I think too much trust is put in scent loc and other type products and not enough attention is given to setting up with the wind and other environmental factors in a hunters favor.

With that said, if it gives you confidence then it's a good thing. Confidence will keep you on stand when your cold and it's sleeting out. Confidence will keep you alert and on you toes and this is also important.

Don't think of it as scent elimination. Think of it as a way to make the deer think you are farther away than you actualy are. Keep them spotless and they will work well.

unless you keep the outfit hanging in a tree in the back yard they are pretty much useless. they only help contain the odors under the outfit. not the odors that are on the outfit. odors like the fish you had for dinner or the hamburger you cooked the other night or maybe some popcorn or the cleaners under the sink. i guess you are getting the idea. they must be kept away from any unnatural odors. and this is easier said than done. :D

My Dad bought me a suit a year ago. I couldn't tell either way if it worked, but it does make for nice hunting outfit to slip over my thermals.

For the price, I'd have to say "No Way". I use the free scent blocker, the wind.
I read a study, don't know how honest it was, that said scent suits are not any advantage. Something about humans in scent suits and tracking dogs. The dogs went right to every human without problem. I dont remember the specifics.
I might use one if they were cheap, but for the price, I'll stick with the wind.

I have been taught to keep them sealed up until I enter the woods and then take them off and seal them up before leaving the woods. So, they are like the woods every time I wear them. I don't field dress with them on either. There not the end all just part of the process.

I wouldn't pay retail for them.There nice but not that nice.

remember that when you seal them in plastic they will have a plastic odor:D

I have a scent lok suit that I hardly ever wear.It is not particularly comfortable and that is the primary reason that I don't wear it.The importance of hunting the wind correctly cannot be overstated,I also am extremely meticulous about my equipment,clothing and body as it relates to the steps taken to be as clean and odor free as possible. I have a lot of faith in Hawgs Limited Vanishing Hunter product.
I didn't get winded by any deer that I visually saw this past year in about 30 days of hunting.
