Default RE: Monopod for video camera...that sticks in the ground.

I have found alot on Ebay but most do not stick in the ground.
I thought I saw one in Cabela's or BPS catalog not too long ago.

Bow, it should be really easy to make one. The screw that threads into most cameras is a standard size.

if you already have a tripod for your camera cut the end off of one leg and crush it to make it pointed. then you can use it as a tripod when the ground get to hard or extend the leg if you want to stick it in the dirt. if your going to use it in a blind you probably won't be panning side to side much so you could get a cheap tripod to do the job. just a idea and i hope it works for you.

Hey Bow, I'd tried a monopod, but shortly changed to a tripod. You can get pretty cheap tripods that will work at most camera stores.
I got one from 'Henry's' here in Canada--if you've got these stores in the USA--go check them out. You can get one for about $19 on sale and the variety of adjustments on them are exceptional.
I myself use one in my DB blind.

This is the same monopod I used first--this is the one you may want to stay away from as the stake bends pretty easily.
On the first turkey hunt I bent the stake on mine trying to reposition the camera to get on some birds.
Also comparing prices 'after the fact' this monopod is quite expensive..

Check out the Pine Ridge Archery "Turkey Pod". I have one I use in my buddies Double Bull. It works slick and does not take up the space in the blind like a tripod does. Here's the link.

bowdacious.. Hey I use a monopod called Extreme Shot. It comes with three different attachment peices. It has a pointed ground spike for sticking in the ground, a treestand mount, which bolts to your treestand platform, and a clamp attachment that will clamp it to anything that the two inch clamp will go around. It has the panhead for moving the camera in all directions and will extend from about 15 inches to about two feet. It works great for me, and I love it. Look at www.extremeshot.com
