Archery the International sport
 

I teach a weekly archery class and Tuesday night we had a family with us from a country (i can't remember which one) that use to be part of the USSR, two girls ages 8 and 10 , one spoke no english and the other spoke a little. Since I don't speak russian teaching was through mostly mimicking motions or the older one would try to translate. They would miss the target then start giggling and laughing, then of course I would start laughing. I don't know who had more fun those kids or me.
By the end of the class both girls were hitting the 3D Boar we had at 20 yrds. They liked the boar because they have them back home. We even had the father shooting, he started with the recurve then used a compound.

Good story sounds like you made new friends while passing on what I consider to be the greatest past time that there is.
