Bowtech Limb Bolt

I was backing the limb bolts out of my Bowtech Allegiance today, but I couldn't get the bottom one to budge. I can get the top limb bolt to turn all of the way, but the bottom one won't turn at all. Has anyone else had this problem?

Zak123--have you loosened the allen bolt screwing the limb pocket onto to the riser. Back that off and use a good allen tip in a 1/4" drive ratchet, insert the tool all the way into the allen head of the bolt and it will move.

I tried that without any luck.

Then use a bit of anti-seize on the bolt, let it sit overnight and try again--it's got to move. Sometimes they bind pretty well and once you get that first 'crack', that' all you need to get it moving. If you've got a heat gun or a good hair dryer, try heating the area a bit--do not use exposed flame--just hot air--and try again.
Use a good tool, I like using the 1/4" drive ratchet for those bolts.

Tried both with no luck. I'm going to call Bowtech in a few hours to see what to do. I am just a little disappointed that I spent $750 on a bow and I can't even adjust the weight.

if you put the other one back in all the way it may be easier. take it to the shop if you can't do it. they'll break it down, take it apart, and lube it.

I tried doing them evenly. I am going to call Bowtech in 3 hours and ask what I should do.

I had a similar problem with my Pro40.

The Bowtech rep advised that sometimes the tolerance is so tight or that some of the film from dipping my have got into the threads.

He advised taking it to a pro shop to take the pressure off then try working the bolts.

We'll let's see 'Ole Danny. You can adjust a bows weight. Yea, shocking I know! Mine goes from 60 lbs to 70.4. You can loosen the limb bolts to decrease the weight. I knew Mathew's shooters just weren't too smart.;) J/K!:D

I had one come in with this problem. There was a burr on the bolt. You can get it out is you take the pressure off. Call bowtech and they'll send you a new bolt and barrel nut;)
