Nline1, Calm down, this doesn't have to be hard. Here is my seasoned opinion and experience. Go with the Muzzy 3 blade. Now, I've used Thunderheads in the past and I found them to be a very effective, well constructed broadhead. I switched to Muzzy over 10 years ago because I did not like how Thunderheads assembled. Muzzy's assembled easier and I found them more durable. I also found Muzzy's to tune easily. Muzzy's have proven themselves to me over and over as I'm sure Thunderheads have to their followers, however Muzzy has picked the slogan for one reason, they truly are Bad to the Bone.

See how simple that was, now go out and gitcha some and tune them in and I'm looking forward to your success story.

For the money, you can't MATCH a Muzzy...much less beat it.
If it's between Muzzy and Thunderhead, BOTH will work fine...you'll save money with Muzzy.

I was going try the thunderheads but when I went to the shop this morning I was looking and the thunderheads and I didn't like the way lock that the arrow locks them in place so I got 100 grain muzzy instead.

Having used both 125 & 100 grain thunderheads and muzzy's. I say buy muzzy 3 blades and don't look back. Although both goods heads, IMO and experience Muzzy is still the best fixed head.

I don't think you can go wrong with either one. I personally shoot the 100gr. Thunderhead, but wouldn't hesitate to shoot either one. Both are very well made, durable, and sharp. Muzzy's are probably a little cheaper in price though.

Use the Muzzy 3 blade 125 grn and never look back. I don't think you could make a wrong choice of those heads you listed though.

And yet another vote for Muzzy. I switched to Muzzy 100 grain 3-blade after using Thunderhead 100 grain for a few years. I took my first deer with a bow using the Thunderheads so I can attest to the fact that they work fine. Like Rob/PA Bowhunter though, I feel that the contruction and overall design of Muzzy head is superior.

I recently took a 1500-pound Water Buffalo in Argentina with 125-grain Thunderheads. Broke 2 ribs that are like 2X4's and didn't lose a single blade. The broadheads stayed perfectly in tact and with some replacement blades, they were good as new. I was impressed with their durability, not to mention their effectiveness.

I'm sure Muzzy's are the same and they do cost a bit less.

Actually, for game as small as whitetail deer, there are MANY broadheads on the market that are equally effective. I like Spitfire Expandables also. They shoot great and make a helluva hole and are great for deer-sized animals. When going after bigger game like Elk, Moose, Water Buffalo, or some of the big Africa Game, broadhead choice becomes a bit more critical.

Get a good quality broadhead: Thunderhead, Spitfire, Muzzy, Satellite, and you will be fine for deer.

I've killed deer with both and here is my opinion.

Thunderheads-Very accurate, not very durable.

Muzzy-Very accurate, very durable.

You pick.

NO crisis, but the easiest decision you will ever make. You can't be wrong with either choice. I don;t think there is a shot out there on a deer where one will significantly out perform the other.
Personally I am a thunderhead guy. I will never switch, they have never failed me. I put them through some bone too and they've held up. I don;t shoot a blistering speed bow by any means either.

Some things are true whether you believe them or not.

No brainer here.....Muzzy, period. If the shop is out, I'll go to another shop. I keep a dozen on hand, so that isn't a problem though.

Half a dozen of one....6 of the other!
Both are good heads. I have shot both and both are great. Tune your bow and choose one and you can't go wrong.

Get all your buddies together and shoot a little bit of everything represented. That is a cheap way of trying heads out. Two things I won't try to save money on are broadheads and climbing tree stands. (steel force and summit)

Nothing holds their blades like a Muzzy. If you shoot a lot of broadheads the Muzzys will hold up better in the long run.
