This seems like a perfect place to draw field mice. Maybe mr fox isn't eating the corn, but the little critters that came to a free lunch.

That last picture leads me to conclude that Mr. Fox is using it as a litter box!
Thats what I was thinking, lol.[8D]

I think a fox is one of the neatest animals out there. Havnt seen to many while hunting, mostly when im driving around at night or when i play golf(they're all over the course and will get in your cart and eat your candy if your not careful). But ive never seen one eat corn.

At first glimpse I would have thought that this was a peta fox that had gone vegitarian.

Gray Fox are omnivorous like a bear, and eat quite a bit of plant food (moreso than a Red Fox) they feed heavily on cottontail rabbits, mice, voles, other small mammals, birds, insects, and much plant material, including corn, apples, persimmons, nuts, cherries, grapes, pokeweed fruit, grass, and blackberries.
That's good info Matt, Thanks. I guess I'm more acustom to red's and knew very little about gray's until now.

Yeah cool pics.......Gray Fox are omnivorous like a bear, and eat quite a bit of plant food (moreso than a Red Fox) they feed heavily on cottontail rabbits, mice, voles, other small mammals, birds, insects, and much plant material, including corn, apples, persimmons, nuts, cherries, grapes, pokeweed fruit, grass, and blackberries.
Great info Matt. One of the coolest things I've ever had the pleasure to witness in the field was a mama fox teaching her kit to catch grasshoppers. They finally spotted me when I couldn't control my laughter, but it was a great 10 minutes or so!
