Yes, that is the arrow that I shot the deer with. It's embeded into a small log that is under the deer's front legs. I added some differnt style leaves to mix with the few the taxidermist put on. I also put in a set of antlers that I got several years ago. When I shot the buck he bolted into the brush..while tracking him I found both antlers along the blood trail.

So I added the antlers, arrow, and leaves...hopefully I'll get to put a plant around it somewhere that looks like a brush or shrub.

Congrats on the cool mount, it sure is an awesome conversation piece! Is it a button buck, it could just be the photo but the arrow looks as long as the deer is??? This isn't the case is it? Congrats on the gorgous trophy, it makes for an awesome diplay!

The arrow is angling towards the camera and makes it look longer in the picture.

And yes it's a button buck...and everyone who see's it has to hear the story...so it seems to be a good fit in the living room. :)

Certainly a very unique trophy, I've NEVER seen any color phase other than standard brown in my area. A double troat patch is about as unusual as it gets in my area! Thanks for sharing the pics.

I do have a question, is the piebald coloration a result of inbreeding or any other unheathy herd condition? Or is it totally random and could occur anywhere?

I have no idea what causes the pie balled state. But no one had seen this deer before until the day I took it. It came in all by itself...

The total on the mount was $503.50! From the response I got on here when I first got it back in Feb. that was a steal of a price.

It is still astonishing to get a full body mount for that price, way to go! That might be more rare than finding a piebald. ;)

He came out looking very nice HighCountry. I had to go back and relook at the picks in you pickup truck.

Yes you did get a great price for your mount. Mine was ove 2x more. The guy I went to is suppose to be the best in the region and was retiring hence my high price. He did awesome work. He was a complete A$$ when I couldn't pick up my deer as scheduled do to my house burning down the day before. For some reason he felt me picking up my mount was more important then me finding a roof for my family.

Wow...I wouldn't have mounted it with a full body if it had been the prices like you guys talk. But I got a good deal, and had a great hunt. So it all worked out.

I would really love to have a nice non-typical in a full body mount jumping a fence. That would by my alltime fav.
