I have the AmeriStep 4 point harness. It took a few times to be able to put it on in the dark. I havent tested it yet ( thank the Lord). It is comfortable and doesnt restrict movement.

SOTP!! Bought it a few years ago via recommendations from this forum. My confidence while in the trees skyrocketed. I actually tested the harness once in my backyard. I stepped off a chair while wearing the harness. Honestly, I did it kinda slow <img src=icon_smile_blush.gif border=0 align=middle> but the harness worked great and supported me quite comfortably.

I have an old one from work that is/was OSHA approved, I had to repair and replace some parts, but it is stitched up sturdier than when it was new. Being used to wearing them very often. I don't find them that confusing or frustrating to put on.

Seat of the Pants. Great for hanging stands too, using the belt loops and the tree strap, ... when I'm not using my API bowhunter climber.

Does the SOP have any type of &quot;suppression&quot; system to break your fall gradually? Seems like that would be important...

No it doesn't have any type of decelerator system on it. Come to think of it, I haven't seen any hunting style harnesses that have the decelerator like the osha approved type have that we use in construction.
