Wal*Mart comes through again- Muzzy
I have finally decided to try switching from my Spitfire Mechs. to Muzzy's 4blade Fixed after hearing soooo much positive feedback from people on this forum. I walked into Walmart today and they had 4 racks of both 100gr & 125gr Muzzy heads for $14/3pk. I've never purchased this head before, but damn....it is 1/2 th price of my Spitfires. I hope that they are as good as everyone says.

RE: Wal*Mart comes through again- Muzzy
I've never seen Muzzys in a 3-pack. I've always seen them in a 6-pack and they are usually around $30. Either way you're still saving money. Cool deal.

RE: Wal*Mart comes through again- Muzzy
I just switched to muzzys 4 blade 100 grain. I was always a mechanical broadhead shooter (rockets 100gr)But Iam currently stationed in the usmc in California. Mechanical broadheads are illegal in Ca. So i switched to muzzys that I also bought at WalMart and They are awesome. I ve shot two blacktails with them, and have no problem tuning them, they are bad to the bone. I thought I would never change my Rockets, Ive had awesome results from them also, but now the muzzys may make me reconsider.

I also have switched from spitfires to muzzys this year.

Mechanical shooters switching? I am glad you guys have good success with the Walmart Muzzys. I was skeptical myself since I have never seen a 4 blade 100 grain Muzzy except at Walmart. I would suggest trying the 3 blade sometime also........awesome baby!

Muzzy's are great head's.You should have no problem's.And it's nice to know ,that if one did fail on a game animal,John is around to boil in Peanut Oil.

I'm a fan of the Muzzys. The 4 blades fly the same as the 3 blades, for me. I was "shocked" to see Shockwaves at Wally World here in Oh. I tried some Magnus Stingers. That will be a new thread.

I've been on Muzzy's for a while now, you're gonna love 'em. I did see where the Realtree pattern Muzzy's are being sold in 3 packs.
Muzzy 100's 3-blade for me!!!!!!!!!! When someone makes something better, I'll buy it!!!!!!!!!! Visit my hunting homepage.... http://www.geocities.com/hogshooter_2000 |
RE: Wal*Mart comes through again- Muzzy
i have been using them for 6yrs. there isnt a better head out there. the blades are not the sharpest out of the package. that would be my only gripe. i have never had anything but PASS throughs with muzzy's. they will pass through any animal in N amer. deer r toast:)

First of all I just want to say I've read these posts for a long time and on the whole there is not a more nice and informative group of people in the world! As for the topic I'm glad someone appreciates the benifits of 4-blade muzzys. A bunch of my hunting buddies have this fear of 4-blade broadheads not flying well even after I've proved it to them many times.

Follow up:
I went out yesterday afternoon with 3 practice heads and the Muzzy's do everything that they claim. I had to adjust my windage 2clicks left and I'm consistantly getting 3"groups at 30 yrds. They fly as well as my old field tips. I am shooting a Martin Jag Mag at 60lbs and 29" draw w/ Easton xx78's. After reading many helpful posts on this forum, I was concerned with the (possible) KE that I was producing and the spitfires that I had been using. There is now one less thing that I need to be worried about when in my stand. Thanks for all of the insight. "Measure twice, shoot once <img src=icon_smile_evil.gif border=0 align=middle> " |

RE: Wal*Mart comes through again- Muzzy
Screw the tip onto the broadhead body without blades
Lay the tip flat on a stone9I use a pocket diamond hone I picked up at the local woodworkers store) and using a figure eight motion(Like sharpening a knife blade) sharpen the tip without lifting it off the stone flip it over on side (two more edges of the tip and repeat for a total of 3 sides 6 edges. With a little practice you end up with a needle sharp tip and cutting edges that shave the hair on your forearm. Since these are tool hardened steel a very light brush of oil (or sharpen with oil) keeps them from rusting. They are butter knife sharp out of the package but mine area all razor sharp! If this dosn't make sense let em know and I'll see if I can get a couple of pictures to help. RE: Wal*Mart comes through again- Muzzy
To start with I shoot both muzzy 90's and 100 4 bladers.
Did anyone notice the fact the realtree edition muzzy 100's are $5.00 more than the muzzy camo'd broadheads. $5.00 for a camo print that isn't over 1.5" long. What a joke. The muzzy camo ones look plenty good to me, could hardly tell the difference in color because there's so little camo actually there. |
RE: Wal*Mart comes through again- Muzzy
Hi!
I have been reading these post just 2 nights now, and i believe i`ve found a home! I use muzzy 90`s 4 blade. With carbon arrows. I was hunting Indiana a couple of years ago, and grunted in a 7 point in early season, when he came into my range of 25yrds. i came to full draw, he was quarting away from me just the way i like them to, anyway as i released my arrow, i don`t know if he had the urge to dig a flea or what but he turned with his bung hole kind of facing me, the arrow hit in his hind quarter, but the arrow found its way to the heart, a quick recover, of what might have been a butchering sight! I couldn`t belive that the muzzy cut like it did. Chris |
