Your bow is probably doing about 270fps

Your bow is rated at 30"/70# 350gr arrow with a bare string and that rating is probably high end so these are approximates:

-3" draw = 30fps
16grs over 350gr = 5-6fps
string load= 8-10fps

Whisker biquit?.....might equal another 2-3fps
That's a subtraction of about 45-50fps from the rated speed.

I'm not too wild about Spitfires for light arrow mid speed type combos.....sure they'll be OK with perfect broadside shots and probably work most of the time but I think there are better choices for you.
The NAP Scorpion or the new 3 blade Rocky Mt. Snyper would be a better head for your set-up. More modest cutting diameter and open faster upon impact and require less energy to keep em' moving all the way through.

Your setup would be fine. I recommend these broadheads if you shoot 260 fps plus. I have been shooting these for a few years now and I will never switch. I am 16-16 on deer with them. Dont be afraid of taking quartering shots. I never had trouble with them opening.

i shot spit fires until this year. i shot the biggest dear i've ever seen a little high and forward but only got 3-4 inches of penatration and didn't so much as find a drop of blood. i changed to 4 blade muzzy 100 grain. next deer i shot was a 120 lb. 8 point quartering to in the shoulder. it didn't go 50 yards. it broke its front shoulder and was sticking out the opposite side probably about the last rib. i will never shoot expandables again. its all about the penatration. not all shots are perfect broadside like someone else said.

Must've been the broadheads then right?[:'(] I'm so tired of people blaming their mistakes on equipment, primarily expandibles. Not a flame on you, but the fault was in your shot, you said so yourself, not your equipment.

spitfires are good, but muzzy's are better, also magnus stinger's are top notch. Don't be afraid(not that you are) using a broadhead that needs a little tuning. They fly better than most people think.

they fly great, but I wouldn't shoot them again. I killed one deer with it, and lost one deer. penetration was NOT admirable. I shoot my thunderhead 100s and don't think twice.

I love em. Had a passthru double lung. Sliced a rib clean in two on exit. Of course I can't tell you what they would do on a bad shot just as I can't tell you what any other head would do on a bad shot.

Your set up is not going to work well with any closed broadhead
arrow to light. Not enough KE.
If I were you I would stick with open broad heads.

Used them for 4 years now 425gr with broad head.
Never had deer go more than 50 yards.
Split front shoulder and went tru till stuck out other side 6 inchs.
Always good blood trail with pass tru or not.
6 deer have not lost a one.
Never failed to open never had any problems.
I know I will get flamed for this but I have never had any problems
with any broad head I have ever used.
But then again I shoot with in my own parameters such as I will not take a shot out of a tree stand over 20 yds ................................
Ground 40 yds if things look & feel right (little or no wind ,brush ,so on).
A lot of people try to blame there equiment for there mistakes or
inability!!!!!!!!!!!!1
