BAD SEASON
This past deer season was a real bummer for me and my son. we hunt in a good area but the problem is we are hunting around about 75acers of heavy marsh. this is the problem early season I shot a doe about 20 yrds. my arrow didn't pass through and I still thought we had her we waited about 45min. then started looking we found my arrow which she pulled clear through. We found good blood but IN a short dist. it started slowing up till it finaly quit about 100 yrds into the marsh. It should have been a good lung shot. We had about the same thing with a buck my son shot seems once they get into the marsh the blood just stops. I have hunted for about 25 yrs and this has never happened to me before just can't figure this out . Need help please:(

RE: BAD SEASON
If the deer you are shooting are traveling that far then they are most likely not double lunged.........What did the blood look like??
Are you losing the blood because of water in the marsh or it just stops?? Sounds like you might be better served with longer then 45 minute wait time before going after them there. Without knowing for sure what kind of hits you put on them makes any advice really just a guess though. |
RE: BAD SEASON
I've deer hunted my whole life in a duck 500 acre duck marsh. Shot placement is critical. The chance of recovering a deer diminishes rapidly after 50 yards.
