Easton Axis ST's..........

I just bought some Easton Axis ST 340's. I shoot my Switchback at 62-70lbs. Did I get the right arrows? This is what Gander recomended. They had 300, 340, 400, and 500's in stock. According to the Easton arrow chart I did perfect. Do any of you shoot these and/or what do you think of them? I got a dozen Gold Tip Pro Hunters 55/75 being crested and fletched also. I guess I'm looking to find out what shoots better. Let me know what ya'll think of them and how I did. PPsssssttttt here's the best part...........I got the Eastons for $60.00 (that's for a dozen by the way). Our Gander is relocating so they're having a moving sale plus my mom's an employee there. HEE HEEEEEEEEEEE!!!

Well assuming they are both the same length, they are very differently spined. At the bow, you will see more speed out of the GT's because they are much lighter in weight. I also believe that the GT's are lighter even when in a comparable spine in the Axis.

How long is your draw length/arrow?

Stone316 please keep us informed about the axis I was looking myself at them but after hearing so many mixed reviews I decided against it and bought gold tips instead. I still don't have my left handed Switchback in yet but I have been told it will be soon!

My draw length is 30", and my arrows are cut flush with the end of the riser measurement is a hair over 30". I know the GT's will be faster but I wanted to try the Axis out for better penetration. It's an on going test for me I guess is what I'm saying. Jason you gotta be going nuts waiting. I can't go a day without shooting mine. It is Jason if I remember right. Right? Anyway I can shoot the Axis tomorrow night for they have to dry flat for 24 hrs. I'll let you guys know how it went.

I shoot the 340's at 28" and 70lbs and love em. No issues so far. After shooting them, all the other carbons feel fragile!

RE: Easton Axis ST's..........

Okay people here's the first report on my findings with my 340 st's. My bow is set at 65lbs and my arrows are cut to 30". I shot a flight of my PSE carbon force 300's and yup they're lightning quick. Then I shot a flight of my 340's and unfortunately they are a tad bit slower. At 9.5 grains per inch though I should have seen it coming. BUT (this is the best part), I shoot tighter and more accurate with them. I was told the heavier the arrow the more forgiving they are. If this is true, I'll take the Axis any day of the week. Now, I'm still waiting for my GT Pro Hunters, so that will be the next trial run. For now I'm loving my new found pin point accuracy. Gonna shoot em some more tomorrow or friday. I'll let ya know if I find anything else.

Thank's Stone ,I'm sure I'll enjoy me 340's as well ,Although I don't care to lose a whole lot of speed but I would sooner have more impact and KE than speed anyway's ,I'm shooting a BowTech Patriot Dually at 60#'s .

RE: Easton Axis ST's..........

Nubo, the nice thing about the Axis arrow is that they just feel downright solid. Once you've let them dry for 24 hrs and installed the points, they make all the other carbons I've shot feel like I dunno flimsy. Is that the word I'm looking for? I'm telling you you're gonna love em. Plus they skinnier than your standard carbon shaft. All around so far great arrow.

Thank's Stone that's what I like to hear .I've read some pretty negative post's on them ,but I still wanted to try them anyway's .I'm shooting Gold Tip 3Dpro's in 3555's right now but I like to hunt moose and I think they might be too light for moose so I wanted a heavier shaft but had some serious strength as well for penetration ,I'm just hoping these are my answer .I bought mine for 78.00 U.S so I never got the deal you got but Oh well that's how it goes.If you find anything else about these shaft's please make me aware of it ,I'd certainly appreciate it .
