Question about pin sights

I switched to carbon arrows last week. I'v been sighting in my pins and my top pin is almost at the bottom of my limb where as when i was shooting aluminum arrows the pins were much lower. Is there anything i can do to fix this? If i make my first pin 10yards the pin will be above the limb.

RE: Question about pin sights

You don't need a pin at 10 yards. 20 yards should be your first pin. With a 20 yard pin you'll only hit about 1/2" high at 10 yards. Why clutter up the sight picture.

BG is absolutely right.

The only thing you can do is lower your anchor. I had this problem setting up a buddys reflex excursion.

Add another opinion for a "10 yard pin not required" statement.

I remember working on a bow a few years back that had a very small sight window. This gave the shooter fits when trying to shoot his 20 yard pin without having the upper limb pocket obscure his target. We modified his anchor point slightly and he was good to go.

Personally I like a longer bow, (32" draw makes the shorties look like a sideways "u"), with a longer riser usually comes an ample sight window.
