Your asking deer hunters to tell you were to find them! Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha ...
It is pretty funny. Hope you do well though. |

What is with these 3 counties, I've been hunting them for years in near seclusion. All of a sudden everyone is asking about them and the woods are getting crowded.

T Dogg, I will tell you a couple of spots to check out. Try Zaleski State Forest. It is where all 3 of those counties connect. I used to hunt it in gun season. Go up Coalmont Rd. 2 or 3 miles, I got a 10 point one year and an 8 the next. Try Four Hollow Rd. on the north end of the park go 2 miles until you get towards the top of the hill, I've got several does and spikes in that area. You could also try King Hollow Rd. if you pass the turkey management area, you've gone too far. Quite a few deer in that area with one less 12 pointer. You will have to scout it out for yourself. It is very rough and steep in those areas. I recommend a game hauling cart if you go off the road very far and thats even a chore with 2 people. There is really no reason to go very far into the woods, you will see why if you hunt there a few times. I love it there but I got better places to hunt closer to home now. The only time I go there now is for turkey hunting and fishing trips. Good luck

Find any state ,fed ,Mead paper ,Ohio power or the other 10 open to the public to hunt land and you will find deer.
Find a older clear cut ( grown up) and start looking. There are a few areas in Zaleski State Forest to stay away from ( I hunt them) , but I will not tell you where. LOL Very few hunters in the Forest last year and not many deer taken during the gun season. Call 1 800 Wildlife and ask for maps for the public hunting areas in the area ( first 10 are free each time you call ) , sign up for a Mead paper and Ohio Power permit ( free over the phone). Maybe we will run into each other if you hunt Zaleski State Forest . Lake Hope has a nice camp ground ( inside Zaleski State Forest ) This fall if you head down there to bow hunt E-mail me maybe we can hook up or if you have any questions.:):) |
