RE: Arrow weight for deer and hogs ???
I think they would be a little light for hogs, but for deer they should be ok.
My deer arrows weigh 405 grains and I shoot them @ 303 fps and my hog arrows weigh 500 grains @ 272 fps. The 500 grain arrow hits the target hard and gets deeper penetration as well. |
RE: Arrow weight for deer and hogs ???
As others have stated, shot placement is key. Although I prefer to be in the 400 grain range, that is more than plenty of weight to harvest either animal.

RE: Arrow weight for deer and hogs ???
I had a Hoyt X-tec this last year at 70# 28in draw length with a 370gr arrow at only 272fps. With that bow I harvested 6 deer and 4 hogs with no wounds so I would think your set-up is more than enough. In fact all the hogs were taken with complete pass thrus. I'd have no worries shooting your set-up at either.
