Right after the season ended
Even though I hadn't been out more than a handful of days since the gun seasons opened, I decided to go out for the last evening of bow season last night. I saw 5 or 6 does, but nothing close by. After getting all my stuff down safely and walking home through the snow, I was just stepping onto my sidewalk when I slipped on the ice and came crashing down on my bow!
Fearing for the worst, I saw immediately that my quiver broke off at the connection -- I can replace that, but I'm more concerned with the bow itself - a "03 Hoyt Razortec. I drew it a few times holding it well away from my face, but I'm thinking it may be wise to take it to a pro shop and have it checked. Any thoughts? |
RE: Right after the season ended
More than likely it didn't hit hard enough to hurt it but I would have it checked out anyway.

Second I would definitely take to a pro-shop and let them take a look at it just to be sure that it is in good shape. Good luck!! rta47 |
RE: Right after the season ended
I wouldn't hesitate to have a pro shop check out the bow. The last thing you need is to have a limb let go while you are drawing it back. If it cost you $10-$15 it'll be well worth it and if you bought the bow from a local shop you might find out they'll look it over for less then that.
I look at it like this, A trip to the ER for stiches on the forehead will cost you more the $15.00. |

RTA47--I'm fine. Thank you for your concern.
I bought my bow from a local pro shop and they have been especially helpful with their customer service. If I can get over this cold (or possibly flu) I've caught, I'll try to get over there. |
RE: Right after the season ended
That's EXACTLY why I'm willing to pay a little more for products from my local bowshop - SERVICE!!
I'm sure since you bought if from them, they'll be happy to help you with it....and I'd bet they won't even charge you for it! You won't get that from Cabela's or Dick's! My local bowshop let's me take products and try them for a few days (releases, sights, etc.). If I like the product, I pay them for it next time I'm in. If I don't like the product, and as long as I don't dammage it, I can return it to them and be on my way. SERVICE, SERVICE, SERVICE!!!! Good luck! |
