What's everybodys hunting release and why?
What's everybodys hunting release and why do you like/use it? I myself practice and hunt with a TRU FIRE bear paw release. I have 2 of them. I keep an extra in my pack cuz ya never know.

RE: What's everybodys hunting release and why?
I use the scott lil goose, I just like the way it feels. I also have two.
|
RE: What's everybodys hunting release and why?
I have a Cobra glove http://www.fallfever.com/Cobra_Cobra...veRelease.html. I don't know why more of them aren't made like it. It is more like a real glove than a wrist strap and the release is attached at the wrist area and swivels back so you can put it on, tuck it in your sleeve and go on about things until you are ready for it. I'll probably get another when this one wears out.

RE: What's everybodys hunting release and why?
i got a cobra pro caliber and i love it
|
RE: What's everybodys hunting release and why?
I have a couple I use. I use the Scott lil bitty goose for early season and the Scott lil goose when it gets cold[8D]
|
RE: What's everybodys hunting release and why?
My fingers, because I can never forget them.:)
|
RE: What's everybodys hunting release and why?
I use a scott's lil goose also..
I have small hands and it fits well in my hand and also it has a flexible neck that allows free use of my hand without having the release in the way. |
RE: What's everybodys hunting release and why?
Tru ball tornado, Tru Ball Chappy Boss, and Scott Mongoose(backup). I guess they just feel right.
|
RE: What's everybodys hunting release and why?
Fingers here also, I may not be able to group like the mechanical release guys past 30 yds on a 3d course, but 30 and under I can hold my own. Plus I've heard horror stories of people accidentally hitting the trigger during the moment of truth, and people dropping them on the way to there stand, or forgetting them all together. I've tried them, just can't seem to get used to them. Had a buddy that shot fingers, and sprayed arrows all over the target, he switched to a release last summer, and now is a very good shot. Just wasn't for me.

RE: What's everybodys hunting release and why?
I use a Scott Rhino, and have a Little Goose for back up. Thinking of trying one of the new clicker releases for 3D shooting.
|
RE: What's everybodys hunting release and why?
Scott lil goose for me too. After switching over from a pro release years ago, there was no comparison. The lil goose fits me perfectly and scott makes quality stuff. On a side note, I've never hit the trigger accidentally (I have it set extremely light) and keep my finger behind it as I draw. As soon as I take my release off, it's wrapped around the handle of my bow...therefore I never have one and not the other! :)

RE: What's everybodys hunting release and why?
i hvae a truball cyclone

|
RE: What's everybodys hunting release and why?
I have a Tru Fire (either)grizzly or hurican glove realese.I have tried many through the years and simply love the glove style realease's.Kind of like arrowslinger said too about why more arent made of this style.I don't care for the release's that go over the wrist then fall out of the way.whereas to me the glove seems like an extension of my hand.Junk???? http://www.shopatron.com/product/pro...849.4944.0.0.0

RE: What's everybodys hunting release and why?
Tru-Fire X-Caliper X-treme.... I am not sure why I picked it up. I adjusted the trigger sensativity and length, and when I got it all set-up, it felt great.
|
RE: What's everybodys hunting release and why?
i like a handheld thumb trigger. after getting busted with one you have to cock and then it clicks at release i switched to a truball extreme with a talon head i shoot off a loop. its a non-cocking, no click at release, release. i like it.
|
RE: What's everybodys hunting release and why?
Scott Mongoose I have 3 and love them. I have been shooting scott ever since they came out and have never had a problem with any of them at all. I really dont know how old my first one is but I still have it and it works fine.
|
RE: What's everybodys hunting release and why?
i must be the only one here using a fletcher.but i use the fletchhunter.
|
RE: What's everybodys hunting release and why?
Fingers.
Uncle Matt (in IL) |
RE: What's everybodys hunting release and why?
Scott little bitty goose. I like the flexability of the rope that attatches the head. I can reach into by pockets, pack, etc. and it is never in the way. I got rid of the original rope and have been using string loop rope to hold the head on. It works great and seems far more durable than the original rope.
|
RE: What's everybodys hunting release and why?
Scott Little Goose is my primary, Little Bitty Goose is my backup. Why? Because of all of the releases I've shot over the years they just feel the best to me. That doesn't mean they are the best for everybody, but they work great for me.

RE: What's everybodys hunting release and why?
Alright where does one try a scott release or where can I get my hands on a few of the gooses to try. Seems like a pretty popular majority of you like the goose line.
|
RE: What's everybodys hunting release and why?
Scott Little Bitty Goose. I like it because I can tuck it in when I am rattling and don't have to take it off or hold it in my hand. I can just do what I need and not have to worry about it.
|
RE: What's everybodys hunting release and why?
Winn free flight , I've always liked the glove , and it's never failed me in over 10 yrs of use . The glove will rot away but the release is rock solid

ORIGINAL: Stone316_74 Alright where does one try a scott release or where can I get my hands on a few of the gooses to try. Seems like a pretty popular majority of you like the goose line. http://shop.eaglearchery.com/browse.cfm/2,219.html I highly recommend that you go with the deluxe model in whichever you choose. You get a choice of 3 different trigger posts to chose from. My favorite is the spring post. |
RE: What's everybodys hunting release and why?
Just got a carter Hunter handheld and really like how it shoots compared to my old wriststrap release. With the open hook design, I will need so more practice to get the confidence to use it in the field. But for 3 D its great. My groups have improved already after only 2 weeks.
|
RE: What's everybodys hunting release and why?
I use the SCOTT mongoose and the caliper release with the molded grip. I use them cause SCOTT makes a truly great product, and they're made right here in KY
|
RE: What's everybodys hunting release and why?
I shoot a Scott Little Goose.
|
RE: What's everybodys hunting release and why?
My main hunting release is a TruBall ProDiamond with talon. I don't really care for a wrist strap. I am much more comfortable with a hand held. I like my King George by TruBall even better, but it is a bit too noisy for hunting IMO. Also, with the talon, I can leave my release on the string loop while my bow is hanging.
|
RE: What's everybodys hunting release and why?
Tru Ball hunter II glove. Because of it's silky smooth and consistant releases.
|
RE: What's everybodys hunting release and why?
Tru ball short n sweet. I've tried many over the years, and this one fits me best. It is quick to load on a loop and the trigger is very close to the bowstring, so I don't lose very much draw length.
|
RE: What's everybodys hunting release and why?
My release is the Little Bitty Goose. I have a tru-fire for my backup.
|
RE: What's everybodys hunting release and why?
Been using the same Scott release that i have had for about 13 or so yrs.
Still works as good as the day i bought it. |
RE: What's everybodys hunting release and why?
Copper John Eagle Three finger...i like the trigger being my middle finger.
|
RE: What's everybodys hunting release and why?
I think I'm gonna try one of the Scott releases out. It sounds like a pretty popular choice not only here but at our club too.
