Help with hang-on stands........

I'm looking for a hang on stand that just has the platform, ie. no seat attached. I've seen a couple at times, but can't remember who makes them.

Any ideas.............?????

RE: Help with hang-on stands........

Couldn't you just take the seat off most hang on stands if you wanted to?

RE: Help with hang-on stands........

The only thing that comes to mind is the bear river "crotch" stand that fits in the crotch of a double trunk tree. Aside from that I can't think of any. Most use the upper portion of the stand near the seat to attach to the tree and the bootom of the stand to cam out and lock it into place.

My thoughts exactly.
You are most likely are going to pay around the same price anyways?

$50 for a Gorilla Jr. take the seat off

That's not the point Bobco [8D]

I thought that demand would not be very high for stands without the seat and I could buy several of them at a good price here in the off season.

OK, I will be the one to ask. Why don't you want a seat?

I, unlike you, am a true die hard bowhunter. I NEVER sit.......................

[:-]
Now....the truth.......I hunt lock-on's alot, they suck in the department of comfort. I plan to either buy a summit trophy chair to take in with me each time or take my top portion of my Ol' Man. Buying stands with the seat is no big deal, I can do that if need be. But, I thought maybe I could pick up several no seaters at a decent price. I will taking the seats off anyway

Diehard bowhunter i dont sit. What in the word does that mean. Do you hunt with a traditional bow and wooden arrows too. Define for the rest of us what a diehard bowhunter is please!!!!!!!

Hey Double Creek, make me an offer. I got three of those uncomfy Loc-ons I'd like to dump. Most noisest, uncomfortable stand I ever owned![:@] Two have the metal platform and one is plastic.

RE: Help with hang-on stands........

You'll pay almost just as much for one with a seat as without one. Like everone else said,
Buy one and take off the seat. Ive never heard of any mass produced stands sold without the seat.

Buckstar, you're not a very good salesman. He want's a stand without a seat, not a

Most noisest, uncomfortable stand I ever owned!
:D

I'd watch the sportsmans guide and see what you can find. I got a couple of lockons with 30" platforms last winter for about 50$ a piece. If you want cheap and don't care about comfort then check out these at $30.

21" x 27" platform, 300lb capacity.

Thanks adams, I have been looking at those. They are about as cheap as it gets. That worries me a little.

I know what you mean. I got a couple of the remmington 700 mag stands from them last winter and was quite happy with quality. The stands were actually manufactured by bear creek or bear river and are really well built.

The big game stands are also well built but twice as exspensive. I'll keep my eye out and if I see a good deal I'll let you know.

The picture of the stand you showed looks a lot lot my old Amacker stand. It came with a seat too.;)

Man, you guys are a bunch of knot heads!!!!!!!

The pic was just an example of what I need, not the exact stand I'm wanting.

Nevermind, I just bought 4 from sportsmansguide. And they have seats[&:][:o][X(]

RE: Help with hang-on stands........

Did you get the guidegear stands for $30.00?

Please let me know how the quality is when the arrive. I like the idea of buy a comfortable seat and just using the platform. For $30 you can't really go wrong.

I also thaought of a couple of other good features about a no seat stands and $30.00 stands.
1) IMO people wold be less likely to steal one.
2)People would be less likely to climb in and sit a spell.
3) if it gets stolen it's not going to break the bank.

Damn it, now I've got the itch to buy more stands.:D Anyone have a spare bunk incase the wife throws me out?

RE: Help with hang-on stands........

I make some that are all welded 30 x 30 platforms. I could snap a couple of pics with the digital if you want. They are heavy duty, absoutley silent, and they can be made for $30 or so. They are heavy though. The top is made of expanded metal and it's held on with a heavy duty turn buckle. They are first class rigs. Let me know if you want to see one.

Saw this a little late....lol

I'd like to see some pics when you get a chance silent, just email them to me. My brother in law is pretty handy and could probably make them.
