RE: the whisker biscuit
I don't use it but I have herd that if they are tuned properly they work great for their purpose which is to keep your arrow on the rest at all times if your a big spot and stalker than I would say go with it. other than that if you do a search on this forum you will find all the info you can possibly handle.

RE: the whisker biscuit
Absolutely love the whisker biscuit. I've had it on both of my bows. Currently have it on my mathews switchback. They are flawless once tuned correctly. I love to have it for walking to and from my stand sights. I put a little piece of mole skin on the bottom of the insert where the arrow rests for a completely stealth draw back. I use an alluminum insert (wider hole) with carbon arrows. The larger hole allows room for the mole skin and perfect clearance. The mole skin strip I use is about 4 inches long and I center it inside the biscuit hole and wrap it around the edges. Deer won't even know you're there.

RE: the whisker biscuit
stone 316 does the whiskers on it freeze and get stiff in cold/wet weather someone told me it does

RE: the whisker biscuit
Insted, go one better and get a GKF Whisper Disk. Its easyer on you fletching, quieter, and wont be effected by damp freezing weather.

RE: the whisker biscuit
People ask about this WB rest all the time. Try a search and you should find a wealth of information. Personally, I love my WB.
As far as freezing..they sell a product called no-snow (I think) that protects the WB in freezing weather. Try out this Whisker Biscuit review at broadheadtests.com. |
RE: the whisker biscuit
I hunted with mine this year in sunshine, rain, snow, and below 0 temps and never had a problem with any of the whiskers freezing. I haven't used the no snow ( I think that's what it's called) yet but I guess it couldn't hurt. As far as the whisper disk, I've heard stories about clearance problems (could be due to improper tuning though). I love my biscuit and wouldn't trade it for a fall away ever.

ringneck2, you can call GKF direct to order one. Their number is 800 448 7378. Just ask for Dee or Kathy.

RE: the whisker biscuit
I think it is a great hunting rest. I have the original but I need the new one with the opening on top to drop your arrow in. Can't remember what it's called. It's not a good shooting rest. It tears fletchings off like crazy if you shoot all year round. If you just shoot for practice before and during season and hunt with it I would get it. If you shoot a couple days a week all year I wouldn't get it.

RE: the whisker biscuit
Just wondering how it effects arrow flight if any? Seems that since it is in contact with the shaft all the way through, you would have to have perfect form to keep from torqing your arrow off course. Don't know, have never shot one, but would like some feedback.
Thanks. |
RE: the whisker biscuit
thanks 5star Ill give them a call.Im in the market for new bow first .use it on the new set up

RE: the whisker biscuit
many, many, many people use them and have no accuracy problems. that speaks for itself.
|
RE: the whisker biscuit
I use it and love it. It doesn't effect my accuracy any; it may of even improved a little.
As far as freezing goes, I wouldn't know. Once December hits, the .308 comes out :). |
RE: the whisker biscuit
I have one of the newer ones with the brown whiskers at the bottom, and I really like it! My accuracy improved a little when I put it on, (lots of factors there besides the Biscuit, I guess) But anyway, I really like it and I put it on my PSE Thunderbolt.

RE: the whisker biscuit
Tried i..loved the concept....hated the results...switched to a NAP drop away and couldn't be happier.

RE: the whisker biscuit
hoofprint,
The best hunting rest is the whisker biscuit arrowrest. It will help you to fill your freezer. Good luck hunting! >>>------------> |
RE: the whisker biscuit
I think I'll just stick with the Muzzy Zero Effect for that reason. It has " Zero " effect on your arrow.

RE: the whisker biscuit
The Whisker Biscuit is a GREAT rest. Can't beat it. Arrow will never fall off, doesn't effect arrow flight, easy to tune.
I shoot the Deluxe Quick Shot, I absolutely love it, I would not switch for anything, I tried various other rests before using the Whisker Biscuit and have not found anything that comes close to the whisker biscuit. There is controversy over them being hard on fletching....its all bs. I shoot the old kind of whiskers and I have shot my arrows probably 500 times, no signs of them coming loose at all. If you use the right glue (i use quick gel by duro) and glue them properly then the the whisker biscuit will not hurt your vanes one bit. As for freezing the biscuit, rarely will you get it wet when its freezing, because if its raining then its not going to freeze, but sleet could be a problem, however, they sell a product called no-snow that you can spay on and it will waterproof your biscuit to keep it from freezing. Good Luck with it, Whisker Biscuit is the only way to go!! |
