I don't believe I said anywhere in my post that Muzzies were no good. I was just relaying my experince with the broadheads that he asked about. I've killed lots of deer with the Muzzies and they do a great job. However, the 2 mechanicals that I mentioned left much heavier blood trails than any fixed blade head I've used, ever.

Sorry Mike, my apologies. I guess I took your original post to mean that you will never run into the scenerio that savedbygrace mentioned if you use the broadheads that you use which seemed to discredit my post in which you quoted me. I just wanted to mention that he was using one of the most reliable and tested heads out there. The results that he had was not common, but not all that rare either. In any case I guess it came out wrong after rereading my post. My apologies.

If you like the Crimson Raptors give them a shot. Maybe they'll be the best broadhead for you. As far as blood trails go I think everyone can agree that most mechanical broadheads will offer a larger cutting diameter than most fixed blades. As a result, there is a larger hole for the blood to pour from. Does that mean that all mechanicals are going to leave a better blood trail in every situation? Absolutely not. I don't think you can go wrong with Muzzys. They are proven over time. At the same time other broadheads may offer some advantages over Muzzys. It just depends on where your priorities are. At any rate, go out and see how the Crimson Raptors work and let us know how you do.
