Attractant Scents for Bow Season?

Someone suggested that I use Code Blue Estrous Urine Gel as an attractant for bow season. Isn't it early in the season to use an estrous scent?? I thought that was more for the rut. If so, what - if any - attractant scent would you use for early (pre-rut)season??

Thanks!

I have always used regular doe urine. Attracts and covers your scent at the same time. I have also heard of using estrous early season too. A buck is ready to breed by the time he has shed all of his velvet. I have never heard of estrous spooking deer so it is always worth a try.

Tarheel_Hunter,
Wild Life Research's "Trails End 307" has worked good for me in early season...It is a curosity scent and I had 5 deer stop and investigate this scent last year...I'm going to try their "Excite" this year also.......It has a strong estrous scent and is very thick which should make it easy to use on branch twigs. This may eliminate having to fool with scent wicks......I've had good luck saturating a drag wick with Prime Time's "Interdigital Gland" scent, and making a scent trail while walking into my stands.

I have good luck with the trails end 307, it has even worked too well, I was making a circle around my stand with a drag line, top the hill coming back to the stand, 6 point following trail back out, I saw him; he saw me ; GAME OVER!
This year I am going to try the bowhunters set up as well, I have seen some good reviews of this product by others on another forum.

I too have heard great things about #307. I have used for two years to no avail. I had a drag rag hanging up 20 yards from me and a buck came in and walk right by it. This is his normal route so I figured this might make him stop or come my direction. The wind was blowing right towards his face. He never stopped or even glanced in that direction. He just kept on cruisin. I have yet to have a scent work for me. Maybe the deer I hunt are weird.
