getting to the stand

ok here's the deal! i hunt on very thick covered ground that has pockets of openings surronded by trees(mostly pine). the ground cover is extremly thick. i am trying to cut trails to my hunting areas for the best approch. i have marked trails. the best hunting area is about 3/4 mile approch. this is the shortest route. the problem is it cuts through bedding areas.

whats your opinion? use the long quiet approch or cut a shorter approch that will most likely be louder? secondly by cutting new approches, do you think that the routeing of the deer will change?

good topic for opinions. hunt on 25 days but whos counting

I'd go through the bedding area early in the morning and take the quieter approach for an evening stand. Then exit via the closer route after dark.

Take the long way! IMO blazing a trail through the bedding area is the last thing you should do. Go the extra mile to ensure yourself some success...it will be worth it in the end.

wolfen said it all! If you know their patterns now do not change anything, take the long way.
