1. Greater than 200+
2. Shooter bucks 15+
3. Lesser bucks 30+ (not different deer every time out)
4. One shot at trophy buck 160 class 10pt
5. Could have shot lesser bucks 15+ times
6. All within 40 yds.
7. 2 bucks above three inches.
8. shot four does
9. Shot at four does
10. 60+ does within bow range. 100's of yearlings.

When reviewing this season all I can think of is time with nature and time to move stands further towards the Wildlife area. I thought I knew where the deer were passing through and where they were bedding. After thinking this year I will move all 10 stands again.

MILITARY LIMITED MY TIME TO HUNT THIS YEAR.
I have 2 good bucks, but this year my trophy was a doe at 30 yards that weighed around 180 and she fell no yards from where i shot her.I gave the meat to everyone in my family.
A trophy is what you make of it. I believe every deer i shoot is a trophy i dont care about the rack, i just love the freedom of hunting these beautiful animals because every hunt there is something unique that happens.

I started out real good this season about logging hours, animals seen, direction of travel, weather conditions as well as wind direction. Really, I was doing good and then camp two trips up Maine and I "lost" my log book inside my backpack and I didn't log another hour untill about 1 week before the season ended so my numbers are a little rough.

1) In three months I logged aprox 70-80 hours in tree.
2) saw 2 shooters.
3) 5 lesser bucks
4) No shots at a shooter
5) 3 fot the 2 lesser bucks offered shots w/i 30 yards. Broadside to quatrering away
6) Passing from 30 yds to about 25 before moving out
7) Two in the Maine w/ the extended archery tag and 2 in New Hampshire. total of 4
8) shot 2 doe
9) shot at two does (both killed)
10) Saw total of 7 does within bow range (not all offering shots though)

I say a good season for as many hours as I was able to log. If you're young stay away from women. You'll end up married with kids and only get to spend half the time you wish you could in the woods.

looks like we are running less than average for taking trophy bucks but most are taking some Does. looks like several are passing on smaller bucks also.
Like most, I would love to take a BIG BUCk but the most important thing is the hunting & a good rack would just be a bonus. I been at this starting 49 years (2005) & many of those Bucks I let pass(all) would have died a few years back.
Good luck to all this season. I am headed south in March/April for wild hogs & rio Turkeys b/4 our spring Turkey season.

5-8
6-most at 15 yds or less, a couple at just over 20

10-10, but 3 were with one that I shot, another with the buck I shot, 3 that were little ones, one that was in bow range but wasn't comfortable with the shot.

its funny reading that everybody seems to be 100% on shooting does.

i killed 2 bucks(missed 1) and 10 anterless(missed 3 or 4) this year. i saw prob 10 other bucks. allowed 3 per season.

spent 200+ hrs in woods in 2 states (ill & va)
