Help me learn....

I am becoming more and more interested in the "science" of archery. Does anyone know of any good websites to do some research?

I don't think archery is exactly a science, but a good starting point for gaining more knowledge is here:

And Easton's tuning guide is pretty good reading;

Hope this helps.

mobowhuntr, the search engine on your computer will put more info in front of you than you can stand. I use google. The late season, I typed in (Post Rut Buck Tactics), and I had dozens and dozens of articles at my finger tips. Any topic on the whitetail that intrigues you is usually right at your finger tips. If I were you I'd suggest typing in Rub Line Tactics on google, and get a heads up on next October. Good Luck!

Are you referring to the science of the whitetail or of your bow?

I will set you up with some good links in a PM once I know what you are looking for[8D]

Mo, You may want to check out a book, Bowhunters Digest. This covers just about anthing you have questions on. From the history of the bow to tuning and common problems. It's by Chuck Adams and I think he did a good job gathering information that would interest even the experienced shooter.;)

If you want to learn the science of archery, it's best to start at the beginning. Learn how to make selfbows first, then you'll have a firm base to start from. You'll definitely understand how tiller works and why it's so important. ;)

Here is a good place to start. Very comprehensive site.

Archery is borderline physics and also Statics and strenth in materials. If you know all the correct formulas and what your limbs are made of and all of the different variables, you can figure out how much stress is on your bow limbs and everything else on your bow. Interesting stuff, but i dont know if i could get it calculated out correctly!!!
