Need Binocular advice

Looking for a compact bino for long distance hunting (rifle Maine) and post shot tracking (see bowhunting tips thread). Any ideas or stories that you may have would be greatly appreciated!

Venison4all, good thinking, and I'm glad you picked up on a tip.

Personally there are many good optics on the market today. I've used Bushnells for years, usually inexpensive ones and I hadn't had a problem til last season. I learned my lesson in the rain when my bino's fogged up and were worthless. I now own a pair of Bruntons, 10X50. I won't have that problem again.

Venison4all, A good place to get information you seek might be "birdwatchersdigest.com" They do a lot of testing on binocular.
Personally I'm one for quality when it comes to glass. The eyestrain thing will really get you hunting out west. Also you need something that will allow you to really pick out details. You aren't going to get this cheap. My suggestion is to go to the site above and then look at Leica, Swarovski and Zeiss. I got my Swar's last year and can honestly say that I'll never own Japanese glass again. Heck, they all look good when you're looking across a well lighted store for 10 seconds. Spend some time in dim light and hours behind them and see what your eyes feel like at the end of the day.

RE: Need Binocular advice

I have a pair of MINOX 10x24 and a pair of Minox 10x42 Binos that are new in the box and I will sell them at a very low price. They are great optics made in Germany. If you are interested, do a search on www.google.com for MINOX Binoculars. If anybody has any opinion on these please post a reply or email me at [email protected] if you are interested in buying these. Thanks
