I agree in ths case that lucky was better than being good ,but this is one awsome looking CREATURE way to go . Great story

Great looking buck. Check out his top limb. Unless its the picture angle, it looks cracked and bent compared to the lower limb.

Turc, yeah the limb is busted up, it currently is at Cabelas getting fixed. In the picture he's holding the bow upside down. It's suprising he was able to get a shot off when the limb cracking, when he pulled back.

I'd say he was lucky AND good! Lucky for being in the right spot, then good for stalking up 170 yards to get within his range of that BEAST. I'd also give him big kudos for being a responsible person. A lot of hunters would have tried a longer shot than we were really comfortable with if presented with that kind of deer. He held his shot and worked into his range, even though he had to know that every step of that last 10-15 yards could cost him the shot. Great hunt, great deer, great story!
