Man contracts bovine Tuberculosis

Here is a news story about a hunter contacting Bovine Tuberculosis
TRAVERSE CITY, MICHIGAN (AP) -- A Michigan hunter has contracted bovine tuberculosis while gutting a deer he killed in October in Alcona County.

State health officials say the unidentified man cut his hand while removing the innards of the deer. He sought medical attention after noticing lesions in the animal's chest cavity.

The man is the first living human known to have the strain of bovine TB that has been spreading to beef and dairy herds in the northern Lower Peninsula. Michigan is battling to control the outbreak.

The state has ordered testing of nearly one million cattle. Some herds have undergone multiple testing.

I whould not even know what to look for .
I will find out because I bow hunt the next county over.

Here is a great article from the Detroit Free Press regarding this Michigan man who got BTB. Appears that chances of getting TB from deer is very slim.
