Bowhunter Alert

State and local bowhunting organizations are invited to attend a meeting on January 5 to hear a presentation of a bowhunting defense plan from the U.S. Sportsmen’s Alliance (USSA).

The meeting is in response to the announcement by the newly merged Humane Society of the United States and the Fund for Animals that bowhunting would be a priority target.

On November 30, USSA convened a conference call of bowhunting leaders to discuss the threat. Participating in the call were representatives from the Archery Trade Association (ATA), Bowhunter Magazine, Bowhunting.net, Bowhunting World Magazine, Bowsite.com, International Bowhunting Organization, and the Pope & Young Club.

USSA was asked by the call participants to prepare a bowhunter defense plan to be presented at a meeting held during the ATA show in Indianapolis, Indiana. The meeting will be on Wednesday, January 5 from 2:00 – 4:00 PM in room 110 of the Indianapolis Convention Center.

they will never ban deer hunting. its the only way to keep the population under control, which is even hard for us hunters to do.

You may be right about deer hunting in general Shootem Up, but us BOWHUNTERS contribute a VERY small percentage to the overal deer harvest each season.

Do F&W agencies use bowhunting as a management tool where you live?

lmao...that's a good point...what would their lives' consist of, if they didn't have hunters to pick on everyday?

.....hassling the government to do something about the overpopulation of wild animals.....to clean up the carcasses of all the animals that didn't survive the winter.....ask the government for more welfare and other free money to provide more food for their families, since the animal population has taken care of all crops/vegetation? Well, IF they ever get their way, I hope they enjoy the first couple of pleasant "hunting-free" years...cause it's gonna suck for every1 shortly after.
