There is a few reasions why NOT to hunt it . If you are in wolf or bear spots it is not a good deal to hunt there.I do not think the guts make the deer run away but a big saw with cubs would make them and allso make you.

As others have already recommended, pay no attention to that gut pile other than stepping in it! If your scouting tells you your spot is the right one, hunt it. A few years ago I shot two does during shotgun season (in NJ you can take 2 at a time). I field dressed them where they lay. The next morning I was back in my stand hoping for a buck. I had 7 deer, all does, come right thru the area where my gut piles were. I have had this same scenario repeated a few times over the past 7-10 years. Only thing I do after field dressing is take my knife and rip the stomach and organs so that crows and other scavengers can easily pick at it.

My first nice buck on the wall behind me had its nose stuck in the gutpile from the previous day's hunt when I shot him, if that tells you anything.

Thanks all. I did hunt it last night and...........not a thing! I dont think it was the gut pile, but maybe had something to do with the weather. 20 MPH winds gusting to 30 and 62 degrees! Gonna try again this weekend.
Again, thanks!
Again, thanks!
