Do you process your own deer?

My Grandfather would roll in his grave if I took it to a butcher.

I process 90% of my own. On occasion something will come up and I'll be forced to drop one off but I prefer to do it myself.

You bet I process my own deer...part of the hunting experience!

My grandfather and father both owned a butcher shop...learned quite a bit from them. Ever tear down one of those huge meat cutting saws? Not pretty.

I understand why people take them to the meat locker though...nothing wrong with that...I just love butchering my own deer.

I take them to a butcher. I would do it myself if I had the knowhow and if my wife wouldn't freak out.

i do it myself. i prefer to seperate the tendons, fat, and silver skin and throw that all away. i dont think it tastes all that good. if u like to eat that $hit then have it processed. unless you know the guy personally u probly wont even get ur own meat back.

at least thats the way it is around here

I do mine too for that reason: cleaning all that stuff off.

I do my own deer. I used to take them in until I tried cutting up one myself and found out how easy it is to do.
