If compounds were outlawed...

Just curious, but if there weren't compound bows, or if they were outlawed, would you continue to hunt and if so, what would you use - gun or traditional? (let's leave crossbows out of this as that is addressed on another thread). I guess I am wondering how many out there feel that the challenge is crucial to their hunting experience, or perhaps the most important factor as to why they hunt.

Deer dont come up and say " here I am , shoot me " , so every one of my hunting outings have been challenging.

I would go traditional if compounds were outlawed.

Wouldn't affect me at all, except for saving me some money on unnecessary toys.

I'd rope em from my treestand, cowboy style, then when they got tired of tryin to pull down the tree i'd pull em up and tie em off and give em a spear or knife? Sound ethical?...or maybe they will continue to let us use bows?....prolly a good idea. p.s. i could make it work if i had to;):D.

It wouldn't effect me because i have never even shot a wheelbow. I only hunt what they call traditional. But I pray to my Lord and Saviour that no form of hunting will ever be outlawed in this great country.

On the contrary slugman, I have had this happen more than once this year, where I could have killed deer (albeit does/ young bucks) with whatever weapon I could have chosen. I let them walk.

Bob, are those bloodwood or padauk overlays? I don't remember. Gotta make me a new longbow someday soon and I sure like the looks of that bow.
