My biggest scouted buck was shot! double drops PIC*update*
 

Well I am lucky to have a bunch of good bucks running around here but,
I just got news that the monster double drop saw his last day on Oct 28th.

I saw this guy twice over the summer feeding in the field. He is one
of the largest bucks I have saw outside
of Government property around where I hunt.

Congrats to the lucky hunter who I have no idea who he is or what neighbors
property he shot the beauty off of.

Still trying to figure that out. Racking my brain.

I figure him to gross low to mid 180's

What an incredible buck! You've got to be down a bit knowing you won't get to take him, but if there's others around there of that caliber, I'd be out there about every day!!

wow that rack is awesome. Sorry you didnt get to take him buckeye, but hopefully he planted his seed in the area. Congrats to the hunter who took him, whoever he is.

Yes, it is a pretty big let down to know he is gone.

Now my team and team 4 can see the non typical I spoke about a few occasions. I also said I shouldn't have mentioned him as to jinx myself. Live and learn I guess[&:]

But then again if I were only hunting him as a couple buddies suggested I should do I would still be out there hunting a buck that is no longer around. It was very tempting to try to hold out for him but a level head told me not to.

Perfect example to not put all your eggs in one basket.

He is one ugly buck. To bad you couldn't get him with your bow. Look at the bright side maybe next year or after that you'll see one of his off spring.

Good luck and get something before the season's out. Too bad you couldn't make it down to Md. but I hope you do fine just as well.

Here is a little update.

I did find out the hunters name and everything. Although I still do not know what farm he took the beast off of.

Turns out it was his first ever deer with a bow. Talk about starting out with a bang[&:]

Holy Buckets Batman! What a buck! Looks pretty symetrical too, a real beauty.

If that is the guy's first I would say its all down hill from here....of course no one really knows.

What an awesome deer, that would kinda suck taking what I would consider a buck of a lifetime as your first bow kill. How will any other seasons even compare. Hey buckeye it is a good think you didn't take that buck, it would have just started more arguments on the size. I think that guy just saved you alot of grief:D. Just kidding, I could not resist.

Boy that first timer doesn't have much to look up to now. That's a buck of a life time for 99% of all us. Like everyone else has said buckeye maybe he planted his seed alot. Let's hope so. Sorry you didn't get a crack at him.

I have heard of retrieving a deer with a wheel barrow, but now I have seen everything. A frontloader is new to me, lol.

That's a nice looking buck!

My brother saw several good bucks while gun hunting in Highland county. Said one was a non typical with some good size....going to send him a copy of this and just rub it in!
