This is for you fellas that pack your stands in and out, all the time.

How do you carry your gear (other than your bow in your hand) if your stand is on your back? Do you still use a backpack or fannypack, or something else? If so, do you put the stand on your back OVER the pack? (I found this method AWFULLY uncomfortable the other day) I was just wondering, because I read that a lot of you pack your stands to and from each hunt.

Use a fanny pack and spin it around to the front before you put your stand on your back. Then when you get to your tree just spin it back around before you climb.

i carry mine strapped to the outside of my climber, i get back to the camp/truck later than anybody else also, but i guess its from loading all my crap back up!!!![:@], plus i try to be extra carefule about noise, but i depend on my climber alot during bow season, btw what part of s.e.tx, i used to live in spring just outside houston

I'm not sure there is a "easy" way to do it, but I think it's worth the trouble. When packing in-and-out I always use my light Chippewa
Chief (9 1/2lbs.) which has shoulder straps attached below the
platform. I will put the stand on first and then attach the shoulder
straps from backpack over/around the "v bracket" on my stand.
I carry 4 Lone Wolf Sticks on one shoulder and my bow in the
other hand.

Kind of a pain-in-the-butt, but it's a great recipe for success;).

I use a Loggy Climber and strap my back pack to it going and coming. I have it on my back as I climb and attach it to the safety strap around the tree. I don't carry much just the basics ie saw, knife, extra tree steps and my outer wear.

I just keep all of my stuff, which is not much at times, in a backpack. I carry it in by the top handle, bow in other, strap the pac it to the tree once I'm up. I used to try and carry everything on my person in pockets and what not but was more of a pain! Plus I video tape most of my hunts or a least have the camera up just in case! I put that in the pac as well with my binos and calls, not a big backpack. I'd rather have the option to have the room than not! Good luck!

I put my backpack over my treestand. The foot platform is right against my back and I pull the backpack straps through the grid of the foot platform. I have my backpack attached securely on top of my treestand and I use the padded straps from the backpack in lieu of the straps that come with the stand. It's very comfortable and secure for me.

I also use a bow/rifle backpack so my bow is actually tied into my backpack. Attaching my backpack (with my bow secured to the bag), to the treestand I have all my gear comfortably strapped on my back. I find it nice to have my hands free on a long hike to my hunting spot.

Everyone has their own formula, this is what works best for me.

I have a fully loaded fanny pack under the stand on my back. I have also attached extra "carriers" for tree steps as such to the front portion of the fanny pack. With that and my pockets, I can carry in everything without using a pack. I bought a pack just in case, but haven't used it . . . yet.
