How do you carry your bow?

What is the most efficient and comfortable way to carry your bow if you guys are on a long walk to your stand or through thick scrub? Do you guys use a sling or similar?

I usually carry it by the string as if I were going to shoot with my fingers. Seems to be the most comfortable for me.

I cary mine in my left hand by the grip but upside down. This puts the quiver out and my thumb right under the arrow rest, almost locks in. Seems to me the only way. I try to avoid any prolong tork on the wrist for this can cause much pain for some people.

Ditto.

I think a sling could be in the way, just something else to snag on brush on my way to the tree. I have occassionaly snagged my portable climber in the thick stuff, catching the low overhead branches and such. I don't think the bow sling would be much help in terrain like that.

I also carry mine by the string if it is a long walk, but a short stride to my stand, I carry it by the handle in my left hand. Dont ask why the difference. I dont know.

I just bought a backapck that you can strap your bow to for long walks. I'm considering a bow sling, otherwise I carry it by the string like others have said.

I have never felt comfortable carrying my bow by the string, don't know why, I carry mine by the grip, facing towards the ground, and switch hands if I am walking a long way.
