Need help. Is this deer going down?
 

Hey guys,
I need some help here. In my stand this morning and had a nice lookin doe or buck (i tried to just watch where i wanted to shoot so i wouldnt get too anxious if it was a buck). Anyway i waited till the perfect time to draw back and i let the arrow fly right when the deer walked into my shooting lane at 30 yards. I thought I shot right after its back!!! cuz it just trotted like 15 yards and stopped, and then walked off. I got outta the stand 30 mins later and found my arrow sitting on top of the leaves (not in the ground), Where the deer was there was a ton of white hairs. I thought I shaved the stomach til i picked some up and got blood on my fingers. Then i followed where the deer went and found more blood. Drops every step that I took, gettin more and more and puddlin up. Then it stopped(so i think) i decided to not stomp around and backed out since it was a bad shot.
Where do you guys think I hit this deer? And is there a chance in me finding it.

Not enough info to make an educated guess. But if you had white hairs, they are found on the "edges" of the deer (brisket, belly, tail end). Because you were 30 yards away, it is unlikely that the angle of your arrow could take out the vitals and still get this white hair (if the deer was completely broadside and didn't spin or turn as you shot) Give it 3-4 hours and start searching. If there was NO stomach matter or stench on the arrow, I would say you hit low in chest, brisket area...

Was there a smell on the arrow? Any stomach matter? Was the arrow COVERED in blood, or just partially? what did the Feathers/vanes look like? Any Tallow?

there was barely anything on the arrow. No real stench to it either. I thought i just shaved the hair until I found the blood, and the blood was puddlinb in like 5 inch around puddles. The hairs are really white and about 2 inches inches long. The arrow was sitting on top of the leaved with no damage to it, but it looked as if it had dirt on the vanes, but it never went into the ground.

Thanks for the quick repsones im heading back out in a few hours with another guy that has alot more experience tracking them than me.

Was the SO CALLED dirt stomach matter? or was it SMEARED on the vanes and that looked like dirt?

DITTO!! Sounds like a hit on the lower chest or stumach area with all the white hair. There is always a chance you will find it any time you find blood but not sure of the hit? Need more info on what the arrow look like!

could be stomach matter, i dont know. Never seen the inside of a deer. This would be my first which is why I am so anxious. I smelled it and to me it dont smell bad.

My guess is LOW Stomach or Intestine Shot which will give you the WHITE HAIRS..

You are better off waiting till tomorrow if you can.. You dont want to jump it up...
