My buddy got lucky!!
 

A buddy of mine was hunting this last weekend and shot a good looking 125-130" 8 point. (haven't put the tape to him yet) The way he shot it was lucky as hell. The buck came in and gave him a perfect 20 yards broadside shot. He drew, settled his pin on the boiler room, and released. The deer dropped instantly, he didn't know what happened. He looked down and saw the arrow sticking out of the deer's neck. So, he knocked another and shot again, this time he missed completely and had realized what had went wrong. There was a limb above his head that his bow limb was hitting. He adjusted and finally put a killing shot on the deer. Man, some guys have all the luck, kill a potentially pope and young deer even when the odds are against them. I guess he deserves it, it is his first mounter with a bow, he has put a lot of time and effort into this sport and deserves it. Now it's my turn.

reminds me of a friend who dropped a pair of rattling horns and the buck came in for a closer look, sometimes its better to be lucky than good;)

Happened to me already ,it was clean miss,where in the world did that branch come from,I thought I had them all cleared

Lucky or not ,the buck's down and that's what count's ,somebody was definetly looking out for him .Congrat's to your buddy now he has his wall mount.

That's amazing. I'm glad it all worked out in the end. I wonder how often this happens and the shooter never figures it out?
