2 bucks fighting
This is my first time experiencing a fight in the woods here is the story. I could see a deer in the brush and it was getting dark so i figured i would try a couple grunts. I grunted and the deer grunted back. I new it was a buck but then about a minute later i herd a real low pitched grunt you could tell it was a different deer.It was getting dark so i figured id get out of my stand as quietly as i could for i wouldnt spook them. As im walking back i walk about 10 feet from my stand the next thing i know two deer are fighting about 40 yards from me. I was looking through my scope and it was too dark to tell the size and wich one was bigger so i didnt take the shot(I know this shouldnt be in the bow section but i figured id get some better advice here, I am using a shotgun by the way, no rifle). What should i do tommorow should i set up in the same spot and try some rattling? Will the deer that lost go off to someone elses property?

I've had the same thing happen to me as well, and I always find myself back in the same area the next morning. I would try some doe-in-heat bleats, some grunts, and then finally some rattling -- starting light by just "tickling" the antlers together and then later sessions of all-out banging. Good luck!

The winner will probably be still hanging around and maybe even another challenger if your lucky.I'd stay put if I were you ,sound's like there's lot's of action there.

RE: 2 bucks fighting
I've never seen a buck fight, but I did hear one once.
It was a cold day with snow on the ground and I was still hunting up a beach nutt ridge when I heard them going at it. Man what a commotion. Sounded like they were off to the side of me abit, no idea how far. I headed over that way hoping to get in range before they could notice me. I never did see them, but I came across the fight spot. All torn up for about a 30 yard square and a little bit of hair and blood.
I tried tracking one of them out of the area, but never caught up, figured he might lay down to rest after the fight. Nope.
