Nov. 9:

I woke up at 4am and told my best bud that this was the morning one of the three 'kings' was going to take an arrow. Just had a 'weird' feeling. I had been hunting 3 deer all season. 2 170 10pts that were identical except 1 had a forked g2 and a giant 190 class 10pt.

Sunday the 7th, the giant came past my stand at 40 yrds chasing a doe and I couldn't get him stopped until he was 55 yrds. way too far.

Tuesday morning found me in my SE wind stand. At around 7:30 I had a small 135 8pt under my stand looking and grunting up the ditch. Suddenly I heard a very deep grunt up the ditch and saw 'forkys' antlers coming toward me. 'Forky' stopped at 35 yrds behind some brush and worked a scrape. It was amazing watching him display his power. The 135 decided that he would take a different route this morning and turned to walk away. This is when I knew I had him. 'Forky' turned and started for the small buck to make sure he was leaving. When forky stepped out quartering away, I had him centered for 25yrds. He was actually 20yrds and I hit him in the spine. Dropped him in his tracks. 1 more arrow through his 'crease' and he was pretty much done. 3rd arrow I smoked a hickory(glad that wasn't my first arrow). I have a motto: "shoot him til they're dead." By the time I got the 4th arrow nocked it was over.

I have killed 2 great bucks on Nov. 9. one in 2002 and now one in 2004
