fox and deer

Had a fox behind me and out in the front a buck ran through. His tail flagged, but not on a dead run just a trot. He ran across and not back from where he came from. would you guess it to be the fox that spooked him, or was i busted. I guess my question is would a single fox spook a deer? thanks.....mtich

I've never seen where a fox spooked a deer. I have seen them both in the same fields, very close, yet completely uncaring to what the other was doing.

I have used red fox urine on my boots as a cover scent many times and have never had them bothered by it at all. You may have not got busted but something was up that he didn't like. May or may not have been the fox or the way the fox was acting.
