I think it is awsome when you are standing at the first blood and look the direction the deer went and can see blood 5-6 yards ahead. None of that "here is a drop" stuff. I'm talking "Blood, look up there, there's some more" type blood. I had that last year using a spitfire. Massive exit wound.
I'll take the "deer at the end of it" (NY Bowhunter) as the best too!

I agree with most of above. If you can walk/follow a blood trail upright at a good clip thats awesome, bout as good as i've seen so far. Really good blood trail i would call one you can still walk slow and stay upright and still follow it. Normal i would say there is more bending over with the slow walking, and down right painful is the drop here, drop there stuff...hate those but persistance usually pays off, never give up.

Good blood you can follow without bending over and struggling between spots.
Awesome blood to me means I am looking forward instead of down because I know that deer is dead not very far away.
I shot a buck with my gun last year that left a red path 3 feet wide for about 90 yards through the goldenrod. Now that was one sweet red brick road to follow
The best blood is of course a short one with a dead deer at the end of it.

A good blood trail IMO is easy to follow, Blood every couple of feet(drops ranging in size form a nickle to a quarter to puddles) but more importantly is short with a deer at the end of it.

The blood trail on my buck this year my three year old followed. My wife and daughter where behind my brother and I, doing their own tracking. My daughter was walking along saying "theres more blood right there Mommy". If a three year old thats never tracked a deer, can follow a blood trail, I'd say thats pretty awesome!

A awesome blood trail to me is one that you never or rarely lose sight of. One that is easy to follow, and has your trophy at the end of it.
I shoot Grim Reaper Mechanical's and they generally leave a awesome blood trail.
