First Cut Expandable broadheads - something you should know

My Dad has killed 3 deer, and I killed one with these heads. 2 of those bucks were killed in Kansas 2 weeks ago and I got first hand looks (again) and what they do.

#1 - they tear really big holes. How and why I don't know, but they really cut the heck out of things.

#2 - good bloostrails because of the cutting.

#3 - and this is the issue. Each deer was shot in the ribs, and no visible problems. However, each shot also hit solid leg/hip bones after passing through the body cavity. What happens is, in all 4 cases, is the tips curl when they impact solid bones. Ribs they seem to cut through fine, but solid bone they tip curl, and actually I believe "bounce" back on impact.

All 4 deer didn't run 75-100 yards. Easy bloodtrails to follow, dead deer ........... but we'll not be using these heads again for simple fact of the tip curling. A bad shot in the shoulder etc COULD result in penetration issues - something he and I don't want to take chances on.

Just heads up - kind of a product review on 4 real dead deer :)

RE: First Cut Expandable broadheads - something you should know

I've used these broadheads for the past 2 years. I've shot and killed 3 deer with them. I've had decent blood trails and huge entrance and exit holes. All three deer taken w/ these have not ran farther then 40 yards. All the tips have slightly curled after shooting deer (even on complete pass-throughs), but I dont re-use them so thats not really an issue for me.
Overall, I find them to be a high quality mech. broadhead.
