Morning after a rain?
We have a front coming through tonight, and it rain about a 1/2 inch today. The temp has dropped 20 degrees and the wind is from the north @ 15-20. Where do you think
I should hunt? I have about 4 spots to hunt, 2 by small timber and buffer strips and 2 corn fields (and this is farm country small timber blocks and still a lot of corn) everyone tells me that the deer will go to the trees now that this front has hit. I just want to see something I have not even seen a coon in 4 days. Thanks in advanced. PS I also have one spot next to a creek. ![]() |
RE: Morning after a rain?
Hunt where your going to see the deer. I know it doesn't help. What I can say is wet ground allows you to slip in quietly. It also allows the deer to do the same. Stay alert where ever you go and always slowly pan around. I don't like to sit unless I have to in these conditions. I'm always ready to shoot.
Good luck |
RE: Morning after a rain?
After a good rain, I always like hunting in between a good scrape line and bedding area. Bucks in these parts seem to like to freshen up scrapes after a good rain. Best of luck

Hunt within 100-150 yds of the bedding areas and if you don't find much, get down and start stalking;) Last time I did that, I seen the biggest buck of my life at 40 yds!;):D
