I still use aluminum.... and don't complain neither..... they perform great for me unless they break inside the deer, which is better than a bunch of carbon splinters in the meat, I think.;) Plus, aluminum is a bit cheaper a dozen...

Please let me stop you there. The Carbon Force arrows are very light and brittle. I had a 300 series disintergrate as the shaft left the riser. It was a bit on the scary side and considering I had only been shooting the shafts a week or so it wasn't from excessive wear.

I personally haven't shot A/C/C but from what I've read they are the best of both worlds. Sofar the best shaft I found (persoanl prefrence really) are the GoldTop Advantage pro hunters. I shoot the 7595 shafts and they are pretty heavy for carbon shafts 9.7g/". You'll have to pry your wallet open though;). That's the only problem with quality, it cost!

I actually do know some who still use aluminums. I find that the aluminums are SO much slower than carbons out of my bow. I need twice as many pins to cover 35 yards with Aluminums. As far as cost, carbons ARE cheaper. I bought 2 dozen Beman carbons about 8 years ago and am still shooting the same arrows. My Dad has shot three bucks with the same arrow and is going to use it on the next one too. He wants to see how many bucks he can get with it. The only thing that has happened was one arrow hit a rock in the ground and split in two down the length of the shaft. But we used that arrow for target practice for several years before that happened. They simply do not shatter like rumor has it. You will bend all your aluminums and have to replace them and the carbons would be like new still. Now that is cost savings. I did refletch them once and they will need it again shortly, but I have a jig and do it over the winter after seasons are over.

Planning a nice wooden elevated blind for next season. I'll start building it in the spring and set it up along the field before summer. I'm also planning a small food plot - need to discuss with the land owner.

I can still take a couple more does this year but with a freezer full of meat Im pretty well done for the year. Ive been putting alot of thought already into new stand locations that Ive come acrossed this year already. Im also anxious to see how a couple bucks Ive got running around the house turn out next year. One is a 130-135" 11pt and another is a nice 1 1/2 old 8pt with a 3in droptine! Since I already tagged my buck for the year and only a couple guys hunt anywhere near this woods Im pretty sure they will make it to see another season, then again gun season opens Saturday so who knows....
