:( Sad ending but I am sure you had your adenaline rush that evening. It's like 1 good golf shot on the 18th. hole. It keeps you coming back for more self-flagellation but we love it so!!!!!!!!!!!!

I seen a monster 2 weeks ago, I had to get out of the stand due to some construction going on about 65 yards away. I thought that since it was a rainy morning it would be great for stalking bedded down deer. I did a complete circle around some grassy CRP fields and I came to the last one with a hill in the middle. Low and behold there he was! A monster 8 pointer that could have made Ohio Game and Fish easily. He was so wide I could have died! I stalked to within what "looked" like 40 yards. I ended up not taking the shot because he "looked" too far away. Well he spooked and left and I later paced the distance that we were at,.... 20-or+ yards!!![:@][:@][:@] I could have killed myself. But I got a little 4 pt. the next week, ( my 1st rack buck, I'm not complaining) so I might help someone else get 'em.

It happens. I've been busted more then I care to admitt this fall. It's all just part of the game.
