My thoughts exactly. If your talking about gadgets, I'd say the best deer hunting innovation would have to be the game cam. Before 20 years ago, there were bows, guns, treestands, scents, camo, etc.... but there weren't any game cameras. I think that's the most original product we've seen come along.

Those are all good nominations but I was thinking more on the lines of "What innovation has changed the landscape of hunting? What item, if you completely removed it out of the scene today, would change the way people hunt drastically? That's why I think the climbing stand gets my nod. Without it you lose all your mobility unless you hunt off the ground. I disagree about compounds. I've never shot a trad bow, but if the only item in my hunting arsenal that was removed was a compound. I believe with practice, I could be just as successful and enjoy hunting just as much with a trad bow. Thanks for all the opinions!! There's a wide variety of answers!
