Bowhunting in Ohio

I was looking at Ohio's DNR website (http://www.dnr.state.oh.us/wildlife/...owable_p17.htm), and in the listing for allowable hunting eqipment, it states:

"Archery Season:
Longbow: minimum draw weight 40 lb. Crossbow: draw weight not less than 75 lb., nor more than 200 lb."

Now it mentions the longbow and crossbow, but doesn't specifically mention the compound bow at all. Is the compound bow legal for hunting in the state of Ohio?

They are considering a compound bow a longbow. Yes they are both legal.

If you look up legal defintions I think it explains what is meant by long bow. "Long bow" does not imply traditional archery equipment. Any hand drawn and hand released bow is defined as a longbow wither it uses recurved limbs, round weels , cams etc. If you have to draw and fire it by hand it's conciderd a long bow. Jim
