Just curious...I never have. I started bowhunting deer and have only shot a rifle a half dozen times to see what it was like...noisy obnoxious things aren't they?

I have hunted with them and killed several deer with them and yes they are noisy obnoxious things. I do occaisionally gun hunt (shotgun) but it certainly wouldn't hurt my feeling if they outlawed gun season all together.

Slam away, it's certainly within your rights. I was kind of joking and kind of not joking. I wasn't meaning banning gun hunting all over the US but thinking more like in the area that I hunt. I admit that the statement I made is purely selfish. However, I hate the rush of weekend warriors that gun season brings. I hate the effects of gun season on the deer. They disappear or become completely nocturnal. I hate hearing gun shots while I am trying to hunt. I like the solitude that comes with bowhunting. I don't wish that gun season was outlawed because of the "snowball effect" that you mentioned but the only effects that it would have on my hunting would be positive ones.

I have never gun hunted for deer. I do turkey hunt and other small game but not deer.

I have gun hunted on ocassion but not often. Usually shotgun with slugs. Just for convenience.

I have been deer hunting with a gun once. I had my shotgun. I did not see anything. I like bowhunting better. I have nothing against gun hunters though.

Gee I born was with a gun in my hands. Back in the 50"s there were very few bow hunters in my state.
